Monologues :/

CAT SAYS: Monologues have proven to be a problem for me..I can memorize the lines, but I have such a hard time finding one that is original and organic enough for me to really connect to and show my true talent. When you need a monologue quickly, usually the answer is to get it out of a book, but they are so...flat to me. I would much rather read with someone even in a cold read than just recite some words...I guess the best thing to do is just keep searching until you find one that you can connect to both the words and the story behind them...if anyone has any thoughts, experience on the matter, or if you just need to rant!..
