This Saturday I saw Law Abiding Citizen with Gerard Butler and Jamie Fox (just to name two people out of the great cast)... and I though it was great! Seeing the trailer I was looking forward to seeing it, but it even exceeded my expectations.
The movie was cast beautifully, and had a very compelling story. Not only does the maze of the story have you trying to stay a step ahead of the characters (thought you are always a step behind Butler's character), but it was morally chalenging. It had me constantly analyizing every move each person made, questioning its moral standing. This movie will keep you trying to figure out...... What's next?!Monday, October 26, 2009

Monologues :/
CAT SAYS: Monologues have proven to be a problem for me..I can memorize the lines, but I have such a hard time finding one that is original and organic enough for me to really connect to and show my true talent. When you need a monologue quickly, usually the answer is to get it out of a book, but they are so...flat to me. I would much rather read with someone even in a cold read than just recite some words...I guess the best thing to do is just keep searching until you find one that you can connect to both the words and the story behind them...if anyone has any thoughts, experience on the matter, or if you just need to rant!.. Feel free:]

Wild Things
CAT SAYS:I loved the the book Where The Wild Things Are when I was a child.. and still do haha! So I couldn't wait to see the movie. I thought it was amazing! It could not have looked better, and the acting both the boy and the voice actors for the wild things were phenomenal. I was a little shocked at how heavy the movie was though. I did enjoy the depth they put in the story, but it is, for sure, something to take into account when going to see it... do not expect a light and bubbly childrens story!

Paranormal Activity
CAT SAYS: this past weekend I saw Paranormal Activity.........and holy crap was it terrifying! It was awesome... I might have peed myself.. just a little. I had heard all the hype just like everyone else and expected a scary move, but to me it trumped any 'scary' movie I have seen in a long time! I would definably recommend seeing it.. just do not expect to sleep afterward! It really is a must see, because you can't understand what makes it so unnerving without experiencing it for yourself.
I felt that the movie looked great, the filming was really enjoyable, so kudos for the film makers who only spent around $11,000 to make it. I felt the acting was good, but I did not love the leading lady Katie Featherston's acting throughout. I felt overall everyone did a fantastic job, and her bloodcurdling screams were convincing...but her performance, for me, fell flat in the less chaotic moments.
